The word AWANA stands for Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed and is from 2 Timothy 2:15 – "Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth."
AWANA is a Bible club that emphasizes learning the word of God. We meet each Wednesday evening during the school year (Sept-May) from 6:45-8:15 pm. Each club night is set up in three 30-minute time blocks. During Handbook Time clubbers learn new verses and finish sections in their books in small group settings. Council Time is when Bible messages are shared. At Game Time clubbers can enjoy fun and games on the unique AWANA Game Circle. Boys and girls are encouraged to wear activity appropriate clothes and shoes. Awards are given each evening as incentives to reinforce good behaviour, encourage future achievement and create enthusiasm for learning.
