What To Expect
Visiting any church for the first time can be intimidating. We invite you to experience a friendly welcome and a place where you will feel at home. Our worship services bring inspiring music, informative preaching and an atmosphere where you can experience the presence and power of God. Greeters are located at every entrance and will be happy to help you and your family through the church and direct you to Sunday school classes or our worship service. Help is always available at our Welcome Center in the Main Lobby at Entrance #2
A typical worship service includes a blend of congregational and special singing, clear and challenging Bible preaching, and is concluded with an invitation to pray or make a personal decision to follow Christ as Savior or to walk more closely with Him. In addition, on Sunday evenings our service includes a special prayer time when we join together to pray for special needs. Teenagers may sit with their parents, but are encouraged to sit with their peers in our "teen section" which is to the right as you enter the sanctuary. We encourage children to attend Children's Church during the 10:30 am hour. It is located right outside our children's Sunday school classes in the Fellowship Hall. They will enjoy an active time of singing and the fun of our puppet ministry as well as learning Biblical lessons taught on their levels.
Bible teaching is the main emphasis in all of our classes. If you are considering joining Friendship, we recommend you visit several different Sunday school classes to find one that fills your spiritual needs best. You can visit our Welcome Center for a list of classes available and a greeter will be happy to direct you to the class location. We offer several adult classes, all taught by excellent teachers. Teen classes are grouped by grade: Navigators (grades 6-8), and Trailblazers (grades 9-12). Classes for elementary age children are by grade level and offer fun and friendly Bible-centered classes. Our nursery divides children by age, where the 2-3 year old children are provided with age-appropriate lessons and a time of singing with our favorite puppet, Bruno.
From September through June, we offer an Adult Bible Study from 7-8PM. In the summer we offer Christian Life University (CLU) which consists of two 4-5 week semesters of classes that focus on a variety of subjects.
Teenagers attend Students With A Target (SWAT) which you can read more about on the Teen page of our website. During the summer months they attend a CLU class with the adults. SWAT runs from 6:45-8:15PM.
For children, we offer Awana during the school year which runs from 6:45-8:15PM. Awana is a Bible club that emphasizes learning the word of God. In the summer months they attend Christian Kid University (CKU) which is similar to the adult CLU classes, but with subjects geared for this age group.
